# Activate Your Capital One Card Without an Online Account

> You can activate a Capital One credit card even without an existing online account. Follow these steps to enroll and activate at the same time.

You do not need an existing Capital One online account to activate your card. Whether this is your first Capital One card or you simply never set up online access, you can complete everything in one session.

On that page, clicking **Enroll & activate** starts the account creation process — and once you complete enrollment, your card is immediately activated. You do not need to take any separate activation step afterward.

Before you begin, gather the following:

* Your new Capital One card
* Your Social Security Number (last 4 digits or full SSN, depending on the verification step)
* Your date of birth
